What this policy covers
This policy explains what personal information we collect when you contact us or instruct us, why we hold it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. We are the data controller for that information.
What we collect
- Your name, phone number, email address and postal address
- Details of the matter you are instructing us on, which may include the address of a property and information about the people involved
- Documents, photographs and video footage gathered in the course of an instruction
- Records of calls, emails and attendances, and payment details where we invoice you
Why we hold it
- To respond to your enquiry and provide advice
- To carry out the instruction you have given us, including attending an address and serving documents or notices
- To comply with the law and with the rules governing certificated enforcement agents
- To take payment and keep proper business records
Our lawful bases
We rely on performance of a contract where you instruct us, on our legitimate interests in running and protecting our business, on compliance with legal obligations where the law requires us to keep records, and on your consent where you have given it.
Who we share it with
We share information only where it is needed to carry out your instruction. That can include High Court Enforcement Officers, locksmiths, dog units and other specialist contractors, the courts, and the police or local authority where the law or the situation requires it. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
How long we keep it
We keep case records for as long as needed to deal with the matter and to meet our legal, accounting and insurance obligations, and then we delete them securely.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything that is wrong, ask us to delete it where we have no lawful reason to keep it, and object to certain processing. Just contact us using the details above and we will respond within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
